Kent police investigate death of female with head, face injuries

Officers responded to a 911 call about gunfire before finding an unconscious female in Kent.

KENT, Wash. — Kent police are investigating after a female died Wednesday morning following a 911 call about shots fired near Alder Lane, the department said.

Her age has not been confirmed.

Officers were called around 4:20 a.m. June 3 to the area of the 400 block of Alder Lane. When they arrived, police found an unconscious female with visible injuries to her face and head.

Officers gave her life-saving medical aid until medics arrived, police said. She did not survive.

Police said it was not immediately clear whether she had been hit by gunfire or died from another cause.

Kent police detectives responded and took over the investigation.

The King County Medical Examiner will determine the female’s cause of death.
