
South Kitsap Fire and Rescue crews contained a fully involved fire with partial structural collapse. One firefighter sustained minor injuries.
KITSAP COUNTY, Wash. — A detached shop was heavily damaged in a fire Sunday afternoon in South Kitsap county.
Firefighters were dispatched at approximately 12:17 p.m. to the 4000 block of Bethel Road Southeast near Bremerton for reports of a residential structure fire. South Kitsap Fire and Rescue said crews found a detached shop fully engulfed in flames with a portion of the structure already collapsed.
Firefighters launched an aggressive attack and were able to bring the fire under control within 15 minutes of dispatch, preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby structures, according to South Kitsap Fire and Rescue.
One firefighter sustained a minor injury during the incident. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire has not been released and remains under investigation.
