Police arrest Capitol Hill nightclub shooting suspect

Seattle police officers arrested a suspect on Friday in connection to a Capitol Hill shooting earlier this week that injured three people outside of a nightclub.

SEATTLE — Seattle police officers have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting earlier this week outside of a nightclub that left three people injured. 

SWAT team members took the suspect into custody without incident on Friday afternoon, May 22, according to the Seattle Police Department. 

The suspect was arrested at an apartment just blocks away from the shooting, which happened happened around 1:10 a.m. outside Cultura nightclub in the 900 block of East Pike Street. 

Video reviewed by KING 5 appears to capture nine gunshots ringing out on the sidewalk during a fight. Seconds later, one man can be seen running back toward the club clutching his hip before collapsing on the sidewalk as people rushed to help and called 911.

Seattle police spokesperson Eric Muñoz said one of the men involved in the altercation was struck by gunfire, along with two bystanders who were not involved in the fight.

Police identified the victims as a 26-year-old man who investigators say was involved in the altercation, along with a 23-year-old man and a 28-year-old man described as innocent bystanders. All of the victims are expected to survive.
