TUMWATER, Wash. — A new Costco could be coming to Thurston County.

The retailer is proposing a larger new store in Tumwater, near Interstate 5 and Tumwater Boulevard, according to city records.

The project would bring a 158,000 square foot warehouse, roughly 23,000 square feet larger than the existing Tumwater store at 5500 Littlerock Road SW.

The proposal calls for over 1,000 parking stalls across the 55-acre property.

Company officials are meeting with city leaders on Thursday for a pre-application step, part of a development review process.

The address for the proposed facility is 2413 73rd Avenue SW.

Costco operates 640 warehouses across the United States.
