
Police said no one was hurt after a man fired a gun during an argument over a suspected stolen bicycle.
SEATTLE — A 22-year-old man was arrested after a dispute over a bicycle led to gunfire early Sunday in Capitol Hill, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Police said officers were called around 1:45 a.m. to the 800 block of East Thomas Street after reports of a shooting.
Officers were told a suspect had run down an alley while armed with a gun.
Officers found the man nearby, hiding between vehicles, where he was arrested, according to police.
Police said they recovered a gun and ammunition.
The person involved in the dispute was found unharmed.
Investigators determined the two men had been arguing over a suspected stolen bicycle when the suspect fired a gun into the air. Police said both men then ran from the area.
The suspect has a felony conviction involving a deadly weapon, is on active Department of Corrections supervision and is not allowed to have guns, according to police.
Officers also learned he had two arrest warrants for obstruction and escape.
The man was booked into the King County Jail for firearm offenses.
