
A homeowner in Kent shot a suspected intruder during a home invasion as other armed suspects escaped, according to police.
KENT, Wash. — A suspected home invasion in Kent ended with a homeowner shooting one of the alleged intruders early Monday morning, according to police.
Officers were dispatched just before 3 a.m. to the 3900 block of Hampton Way after reports of a possible home invasion robbery.
Investigators said several armed suspects entered the residence. During the confrontation, the homeowner fired at the intruders, striking one male suspect multiple times.
When officers arrived, they entered the home, cleared the residence, and began life-saving medical treatment for the wounded suspect. Medics later transported him to Harborview Medical Center.
Police said the other suspects fled before officers arrived. A K-9 track was conducted, but officers were unable to locate them.
Kent Police Department detectives are leading the investigation.
