SEATTLE — The Washington State Patrol is asking for help finding the driver of a vehicle believed to be involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Interstate 5 in King County.
The crash was reported about 12:55 a.m. May 31 on southbound I-5 near Mercer Street, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers said a pedestrian was walking in a travel lane when they were struck by a black Honda sedan. The driver of the Honda remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Witnesses told the Washington State Patrol that a second vehicle also struck the pedestrian but did not stop.
Detectives believe the second vehicle may be a silver or white 2016-2020 Kia Optima.
The Washington State Patrol said detectives want to speak with the driver of that vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to email Detective Judah Bergeron at [email protected].
