
A vehicle hit a pedestrian on a Tacoma off-ramp, initially reported as a hit-and-run, but the driver returned, says Washington State Patrol.
TACOMA, Wash. — A vehicle struck a pedestrian Friday afternoon on the westbound state Route 16 off-ramp to Center Street in Tacoma, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Troopers were dispatched to the scene of the one-vehicle collision shortly after 2:25 p.m., WSP spokesperson Trooper Kameron Watts said in a social media post.
Authorities initially reported the incident as a hit-and-run collision. However, officials later said the driver returned to the location.
The off-ramp was blocked while crews from Tacoma Fire and the Washington State Department of Transportation responded to the scene. Drivers were advised to avoid the area.
The 55-year-old victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
