SEATTLE — A 19-year-old Tacoma man is facing felony charges for allegedly shooting three people outside of a Seattle nightclub on May 18, according to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Ja’Mari McQueen was charged with three counts of first-degree assault on May 27. His bail is set at $1.5 million and he remains in jail. McQueen was also charged with unlawful carrying of a pistol and altering identifying marks of a firearm in a municipal court case just weeks before the triple shooting, charging documents state.

In the early morning hours of May 18, charging documents allege McQueen got into an altercation with some people outside of Capitol Hill’s Cultura nightclub in the 900 block of East Pike Street.

As security guards are breaking up the fight, McQueen allegedly “pulls out a gun, gets into a two-handed shooting stance, and fires,” charging documents state.

Three people were injured, including 26-year-old man who investigators say was involved in the altercation. The other victims were a 23-year-old man and a 28-year-old man described as innocent bystanders. All three victims are expected to survive.

Video reviewed by KING 5 appears to capture nine gunshots ringing out on the sidewalk during a fight. Seconds later, one man can be seen running back toward the club clutching his hip before collapsing on the sidewalk as people rushed to help and called 911.

SWAT team members arrested McQueen on May 22, according to the Seattle Police Department.

McQueen’s arraignment, where he will enter a plea, is set for Monday, June 1, at the King County Courthouse.
