COVINGTON, Wash. — The King County Sheriff’s Office have made an arrest in connection to a homicide in Covington last Friday.
On Sunday, detectives said they had probable cause to arrest Kyle Wayland Cathcart, 41, in the death of a family member in their shared residence.
Renton police located Cathcart late Monday and turned him over to the King County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives interviewed him, then booked him into the King County Jail, KCSO confirmed.
The sheriff’s office said in a release over the weekend that Cathcart had been injured in the incident.
Deputies responded to a call near 186th Place Southeast and Southeast 258th Place on May 1 a little after 7 a.m.
One person was declared at the scene and a man was taken for MultiCare Covington Medical Center for treatment.
No other details about the incident were immediately available.
Homicides are relatively rare in Covington. The sheriff’s office investigates about one per year, according to department data.
