
A Tacoma high school has canceled school for Friday after a mass stabbing on Thursday afternoon.
TACOMA, Wash. — A Tacoma high school has canceled classes for Friday after six people, including the suspect, were injured in a mass stabbing on Thursday afternoon.
Foss High School canceled its regular school day and all after-school activities for Friday, May 1.
School will resume Monday, May 4, with counselors and additional staff available to support students and employees, according to the Foss High School website.
Just before 2 p.m., five students, including the suspect, and one security guard were injured in a stabbing at Foss High School, according to the Tacoma Police Department.
Tacoma police said the suspect is a student and is in custody. All of the victims are expected to survive.
The school went into lockdown and students were dismissed at 2:45 p.m., according to Tacoma Public Schools.
