The new center, aimed at helping those impacted by the December 2025 flooding apply for aid, will operate from April 28 to June 10.
RENTON, Wash. — King County Executive Girmay Zahilay announced Monday that the county will open a new Disaster Recovery Center to help those affected by historic flooding in December 2025 apply for newly approved FEMA assistance.
In a press release, Zahilay said the assistance will help residents affected by the flooding and allow public entities to repair damaged infrastructure.
“I’m thankful for the collaboration with local, state and federal partners that made this critical disaster assistance possible for those who need it most in King County,” Zahilay said. “We’re working to make this assistance as accessible as possible so that residents and business owners can rebuild and recover.”
The center will be at 919 SW Grady Way in Renton and will be open April 28 through June 10.
In addition to FEMA assistance, the Small Business Administration continues to offer federal disaster loans to small businesses and nonprofits. The new center will also assist in completing those applications.
For individuals impacted by the December 2025 flooding, there are multiple ways you can apply for assistance:
In December 2025, an estimated 3,891 homes were damaged by the historic flooding across the region. In January, Gov. Bob Ferguson announced an additional $2.5 million in disaster recovery assistance from the state.
