
A 23-year-old man was shot multiple times late Thursday in Renton and taken to Harborview in serious condition. Police are now asking the public for help.
RENTON, Wash. — A 23-year-old man was hospitalized with serious injuries after being shot multiple times in Renton’s Benson Hill neighborhood late Thursday.
Renton police responded to reports of gunshots at 11:01 p.m. in the 10700 block of SE Carr Road near a CVS and McDonald’s. Officers found the male victim suffering from gunshot wounds and transported him to Harborview Medical Center, alive but in serious condition.
A witness at the scene told police he heard gunshots and a vehicle speeding away but did not see the shooting occur. Police said the victim appeared to have been shot more than once.
Detectives were called to investigate the incident. Police plan to review surveillance footage from the area as the investigation continues.
Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the shooting to contact the Renton Police Department. No suspect information has been released.
The shooting occurred on a commercial stretch of Southeast Carr Road in Renton, near two bus stops.
Police have not disclosed a motive for the shooting or whether the victim and shooter knew each other.
