VANCOUVER, Wash. — Eastbound State Route 14 was blocked for a few hours after a small plane made an emergency landing Saturday afternoon. No one was injured.
The Cessna plane landed on State Route 14 at milepost 2.4 near Southeast Marine Park Way and Portco Tunnel around noon, according to the WSDOT Southeast’s social media. The right lane was closed as crews responded, but as of 3:14 p.m., all lanes have reopened.
According to the Vancouver Fire Department, the plane had experienced a mechanical issue after departing from Pearson Field. The pilot, the sole person onboard, was not injured.
The plane did not hit any vehicles, according to Trooper Dakota Russell of Washington State Patrol District 5. After landing on SR 14 and taxing onto the shoulder, the plane was then directed back to Pearson Field by traffic control.
