Officials recommend seeking alternate routes.

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A multi-car rollover crash has blocked all but one lane of traffic on southbound I-5 in Federal Way Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred just north of South 320th Street. According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Rick Johnson, four vehicles were involved in the crash, but only one person was injured with non-life threatening damage.

One driver was allegedly speeding prior to the collision, and that person was arrested for a DUI, Johnson said. The incident is also under investigation for vehicular assault, because of the extent of the injured persons’ damage.

According to state transportation officials, backups on I-5 extended about three miles as of 5:25 p.m. with additional congestion on State Route 99.

Drivers are recommended to plan for alternate routes and expect delays. There is no current estimate for when the road will reopen.
