
Two people were injured in a three-vehicle collision on I-5 near 236th St NE. The crash left an SUV overturned, and the investigation is ongoing.
ARLINGTON, Wash. — Two people were injured after an SUV rolled over in a three-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 near the 236th Street Northeast on-ramp Friday night.
According to the incident report, two vehicles were traveling on the northbound on-ramp from 236th Street Northeast when one vehicle struck the other. The second vehicle then collided with a third vehicle that was traveling northbound on I-5 in the right lane.
After the collision, the first vehicle came to rest on the right shoulder of the on-ramp. The second vehicle overturned and came to rest on its top on the right shoulder of the on-ramp. The third vehicle stopped on the right shoulder of northbound I-5.
The driver of the overturned SUV and a passenger were both injured and taken to Skagit Valley Hospital. Investigators said the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.
The drivers of the other two vehicles were not injured. The crash remains under investigation.
