MARYSVILLE, Wash. — A woman found dead in a Marysville yard waste bin has been identified as 40-year-old Sara Marie Arneklev, as police investigate her death as a potential homicide, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office and Marysville Police Department.
Arneklev, of Marysville, was found around 5 p.m. April 29 in the 5700 block of Grove Street, police said.
Marysville police said a resident found the body in a yard waste bin while bringing bins back in after collection.
Bob Stocks said he discovered the body while putting away the community waste bins. He said the bin was in the way of others, so he tried to move it and noticed how heavy it was.
“So I looked inside and lo and behold, there was a body,” he told KING 5.
Stocks said the discovery shocked him.
“It startled the heck out of me,” he said. “I quickly closed up the lid again. I was beside myself.”
Police said responding detectives did not see any apparent signs of trauma.
Marysville police said the investigation was still in its early stages and that investigators have “a lot of work in front of us to determine what took place.”
