
Firefighters worked through the night after stacks of vehicles caught fire at a wrecking yard.
GRAHAM, Wash. — Central Pierce Fire & Rescue said no one was hurt after an overnight fire burned through stacks of vehicles at a wrecking yard in Graham.
Crews were called just after 10:30 p.m. April 29 to the 20000 block of Meridian E after reports of explosions and a fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found a large fire involving several stacks of unprocessed vehicles, according to Central Pierce Fire & Rescue.
Fire officials said crews also faced heavy fire conditions and reports of ongoing explosions.
Twelve units responded to the scene, including eight fire suppression units, one EMS unit and three command or support units.
Firefighters worked through the night to contain the fire and deal with the hazards created by burning vehicles.
The fire was under control by about 3:32 a.m.
The Pierce County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what caused the fire.
