Medina dock damaged by fire

Media police are looking for information about the cause of a fire that damaged the dock on April 19.

MEDINA, Wash. — A dock in Medina was damaged by fire.

The fire happened on April 19 at around 5:30 p.m. at City Dock on Lake Lane, according to the Medina Police Department.

The dock sustained damage and is closed until repairs are completed.

“At this time, it appears as though fireworks may have been the cause of the fire,” said Medina Police Captain Austin Gidlof. “Neighbors in the area are reporting they heard a loud explosion.”

Gidlof said the dock is small and mainly used by members of the surrounding communities, which means someone in the area likely knows how this happened and who is responsible.

The Medina Police Department is investigating the incident. Anyone with information or security camera footage is asked to contact the Medina Police Department.

Gidlof said his department hopes the people responsible will come forward and take responsibility to help the city repair the dock.
