Big trucks will be on display for kids to explore to support a big nonprofit mission on April 26.

SEATTLE — If your little one goes wide-eyed at the sight of a dump truck, fire engine, or construction rig, next Sunday is your day.

The Junior League of Seattle (JLS) is bringing back its popular “Touch a Truck” event on Sunday, April 26, in the North Lot at the University of Washington.

The family-friendly event gives kids the chance to get up close — and hands-on — with some of the biggest and hardest-working trucks and vehicles in the Puget Sound region.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Junior League of Seattle, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the community through the action and leadership of women.

JLS is currently running an art project focused on local youth, adding even more purpose to this year’s event.

JLS President Michelle Schoonover says the organization is not only a force for good in Seattle, but also a powerful community for the women who are part of it — offering opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and lasting connections.

Women can also learn about JLS and the opportunity to join.

“Touch a Truck” has become one of JLS’s signature annual fundraisers, drawing families from across the Seattle area each spring.
