LAKEWOOD, Wash. — Five people were taken to local hospitals after a two-car crash in Lakewood Friday afternoon.
When crews arrived to the scene in the 3200 block of South 84th Street they found both cars on fire. One of the vehicles was close enough to a home to cause damage to it, according to West Pierce Fire.
An active fuel spill from one of the vehicles was contained and reported to the Department of Ecology.
A total if six people were involved in the crash, with one being treated at the scene.
According to Lakewood police, one vehicle t-boned the other, deflecting it toward a home. The vehicle that was hit was filled with a family of four – a man, woman and two children.
Speed was likely a factor in the crash, according to police.
