SEATTLE — A man shot during an armed robbery in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood early Thursday has died, and the case is now a homicide investigation, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Officers responded to the 2400 block of 4th Avenue around 5:30 a.m. for reports of a shooting. Police said the incident happened inside an apartment unit.
A 41-year-old man was shot in the head during the robbery. He was still breathing when first responders arrived and was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
Police said the suspect also shot the man and “pistol-whipped” a second man during the incident.
The victim died at the hospital early Friday morning.
