2-year-old taken to hospital after Tacoma shooting

Police arrested two people in connection to the shooting.

TACOMA, Wash. — A 2-year-old was taken to the hospital after a shooting in Tacoma on Monday night.

Tacoma Police Department officers responded to a call reporting shots were fired about 9:38 p.m. in the 2300 block of 96th Street South.

The child was taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to police.

An officer found the suspect at about 11:43 p.m. near Center Street and South Union Avenue.

Two people were arrested in connection to the incident. One person was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault, and another was arrested on suspicion of rendering criminal conspiracy, a Tacoma police spokesperson said.
