Law enforcement will investigate the cause of the crash, said Sheriff Derek Sanders
THURSTON COUNTY, Wash. — Thurston County law enforcement is investigating the cause of a serious rollover collision near Lake Lawrence, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Derek Sanders wrote on social media that county deputies, the traffic unit of the Sheriff’s Office and Yelm Police Department are investigating a high-speed T-bone collision that injured “multiple people in both cars, with the driver of the victim vehicle sustaining serious injuries.”
The collision occurred in a rural area outside of Rainier and Four Corners, at the intersection of 148th Avenue and Vail Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, the driver that caused the collision blew a stop sign at the intersection and hit the other vehicle, which rolled and landed upside down near the roadway in some roughage.
“TCSO is investigating whether the driver [was] impaired, as there is no current evidence to suggest that driver ever applied the brakes,” Sanders wrote.
