
An 18-year-old man was grazed by a bullet near Rainier Avenue South and South Othello Street on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Seattle Police Department.
SEATTLE — An 18-year-old was injured in a drive-by shooting in south Seattle on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Seattle Police Department (SPD).
The shooting happened near Rainier Avenue South and South Othello Street.
Police said the teenager was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck by gunfire. A bullet grazed his head and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition, according to Detective Eric Muñoz, public information officer for SPD.
It’s not clear what led up to the shooting. Over 30 bullet casings were found at the scene, Muñoz added.
Police have not arrested any suspects. The department’s Gun Violence Reduction Unit is investigating.
Both westbound and eastbound traffic is blocked along South Othello Street at Rainier Avenue South. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes.
