Brandi Carlile, who is set to perform at the Super Bowl, has embraced her newfound Seattle Seahawks fandom, inspired by her daughters’ passion for sports.
SAN FRANCISCO — Brandi Carlile says she’ll be rooting for her home team the Seattle Seahawks at the Super Bowl on Sunday, and expects them to win.
The singer songwriter, who was born and raised in the Seattle area, is set to perform America the Beautiful before the game on Sunday.
Carlile appeared at a news conference Thursday with other performing artists, including halftime headliner Bad Bunny.
She credited her daughters with fandom.
“I’ve never been a sports lady. I can’t even run in a straight line. It’s ridiculous,” said Carlile. “But my daughters, inexplicably, are total jocks and they have just got me in line quick.”
Carlile has two daughters, 11-year-old Evangeline and 7-year-old Elijah. She married wife Catherine Shepherd in 2012.
She said she’s “making up for lost time as a fan.”
The Seattle Seahawks face the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. The game will be televised on KING 5 on Sunday, Feb. 8, at 3:30 p.m. PT.
