
Des Moines police officers and South King firefighters responded to a house fire on Sunday evening.
DES MOINES, Wash. — One person died in a house fire in Des Moines on Sunday night, according to the Des Moines Police Department.
South King firefighters responded to the 1400 block of South 216th Street just after 6:30 p.m. after multiple 911 calls about a house fire.
During a search of the home, firefighters located one person dead inside the home. Officials did not release any further information about the victim or how they died.
King County Fire Investigators and Des Moines Police detectives are investigating the incident. Police said there is no threat to the public.
First responders and investigators will remain on scene in the coming hours.
