AUBURN, Wash. — Students from schools across western Washington are walking out of class Friday in protest of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Organizers say students from Auburn Riverside, Mountainview, and Auburn High School are expected to leave class and gather outside their schools before heading to Auburn City Hall.

In Seattle, a camera on the University of Washington campus showed students gathering in Red Square as part of their protest.

In Lynnwood, students gathered outside of Lynnwood High School with signs along nearby streets.

Students from a number of other nearby communities are expected to participate as well.

The demonstration is not sponsored or organized by any of the school districts or administrations.

A flyer shared by students in Auburn says participants plan to gather at City Hall around 3 p.m. to continue speaking out about immigration enforcement and related policies.

Organizers say students plan to peacefully march and share their concerns with city leaders and community members.
