With the Seahawks heading to the Super Bowl, excitement and betting action are surging across Washington — especially at Muckleshoot Casino’s packed sportsbook.

SEATTLE — As the Seattle Seahawks prepare for their Super Bowl run this upcoming week, excitement is reaching a fever pitch — not just for fans, but for bettors across Washington state.

At Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, staff say their sportsbook will be the place to be come Super Bowl Sunday. They’re expecting thousands of wagers between now and kickoff, from seasoned gamblers to first-time fans hoping to cash in on the Hawks’ success.

“People are excited — they’re definitely waiting on the edge of their seat for this one,” said Andrew Ellingson, Muckleshoot Casino Sportsbook Supervisor.

The buzz isn’t just about football. Since sports betting became legal in Washington in 2021, fans can only place wagers in person at tribal casinos or online while physically on tribal property. That means places like Muckleshoot Casino will be packed Super Bowl weekend.

“It’s going to be crazy in here — shoulder to shoulder,” Ellingson said. “People are going to be excited, and you’ll feel that energy from every single person around the casino.”

Ellingson expects more than $5 million in Super Bowl wagers this year — more than double what the sportsbook has seen in past Super Bowls when the Seahawks weren’t in the big game. Seattle heads into the matchup as 4.5-point favorites over the Patriots, and for fans who placed an early bet on the Hawks to win it all, those odds are finally paying off.

“Odds were about 30-to-1 for them to win the NFC, which they just did,” Ellingson explained. “So off $10 you’d win $300. Off $100, you’d win $3,000. Now the Super Bowl odds are about 65-to-1—that’s $6,500 off a $100 bet.”

And bettors can get creative. Ellingson said Muckleshoot’s sportsbook is offering a wide range of “prop bets,” giving fans a chance to wager on everything from the coin toss to the first touchdown.

“For the Super Bowl, we have thousands of bets — no matter how you want to do it,” Ellingson said. “Whether it’s the coin toss, the first-half touchdown, or the third touchdown of the game.”

No matter the outcome, one thing’s certain: the 12s will be cheering until the final whistle.

Muckleshoot Casino’s sportsbook plans to stay open from 6 a.m. to midnight on Super Bowl Sunday to accommodate the rush.
