
Police say a landslide has closed East Pioneer at 33rd Street SE and to expect an extended closure. Eleven customers were without power as of 1:30 p.m. Monday.
PUYALLUP, Wash. — East Pioneer at 33rd Street SE in Puyallup is closed after a landslide downed power lines, police said.
In a post on X, the Puyallup Police Department said it expects an extended road closure as Puget Sound Energy works to repair the lines. All traffic is being diverted to Eighth Avenue SE.
Puyallup police Captain Kevin Gill said the road could be closed for a few days. Large fir trees fell across the road.
Puget Sound Energy’s outage map reports 11 customers without power as of 1:30 p.m., with restoration expected around 8:30 p.m.
