ENUMCLAW, Wash. — Crews completed emergency repairs on state Route 410, reopening both lanes of traffic along the major Enumclaw highway.
On Dec. 10, the highway was severely damaged when flooding caused by an atmospheric river washed away a portion of the road near Boise Creek.
The highway is a main route for Greenwater residents, as well as skiers and snowboarders heading to Crystal Mountain.
The ski resort opened for the season on Saturday, Dec. 20 with mandatory parking reservation requirements to limit the amount of traffic on the highway.
With the repairs complete, Crystal Mountain Resort said reservations are no longer required on Dec. 24-25 nor during midweek days in January. Parking reservations are still required Friday, Dec. 26 through Jan. 4, 2026, and on all weekends or holidays. For the resort’s full parking details, click here.
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) installed a temporary traffic light to allow one-way traffic around the damage, but urged people to only use the road if they were locals or had essential travel needs.
Crews began the repairs on Monday, Dec. 22.
Emergency repairs included rebuilding the foundation of the highway and repaving the damaged road surface.
